Kanji stroke data

Stroke animation data is provided by hanzi-writer-data-jp, derived from the animCJK project and fonts released by Arphic Technology Co., Ltd. under the Arphic Public License. The animCJK data is additionally licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.

Kanji readings and meanings

Kanji readings and meanings are sourced from KANJIDIC2, published by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG). This material is used in compliance with the EDRDG licence (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Starter vocabulary decks

Starter decks are assembled from open-licensed sources: word selection from the OpenSubtitles frequency lists, English glosses validated against Wiktionary, and Japanese readings and meanings from JMdict (EDRDG). These materials are CC BY-SA, and the resulting starter-deck data is likewise distributed under CC BY-SA 4.0.

Stroke rendering

Canvas stroke animations are rendered by Hanzi Writer, an open-source library by David Chanin, licensed under the MIT License.
